At around 8 a.m. this morning, a Penghu fisherman in the northwest of Mudou Island directly hit a mainland submarine, which rarely surfaced and sailed southward, ignoring the freighters and fishing boats still on the side. At 8:00 a.m. today (23rd), at 118° 44′ east longitude and 24° 18′ north latitude, Penghu fishermen directly hit the mainland submarine floating between the cargo ship and the fishing boat, and sailed southward with an unknown destination. Since the submarine sails for the sake of secrecy, it will not float up unless it is absolutely necessary. Although the location is between Penghu and Kinmen waters, it cannot be ruled out that they came to demonstrate before the Han Kuang exercise, which further deepened the tense atmosphere.
According to the photos provided by the fishermen, the preliminary comparison is the mainland Type 039 “Song-class” submarine. The Type 039 “Song-class” submarines were the first batch of mainland Chinese submarines designed to compare with those of the Western submarines at the time. The main features were a teardrop-shaped hull and a single-shaft seven-blade propeller, which made the Song-class submarines meet the standards of modern submarines in appearance.
In 1994, the first 039 test submarine was launched, and NATO named it “Song class”. It was finalized around 2000, and then officially entered mass production. Until 2004, 13 Song-class submarines were completed, and they are still underwater weapons that pose a high threat to me.
