The report submitted by Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) regarding alleged gratification of IDR 100 billion with the former Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, must be separated from politics.
Professor at the Faculty of Law, Jenderal Soedirman University, Hibnu Nugroho, believes that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) must immediately prove whether there was a criminal act regarding the IPW report or not.
“Well, because corruption is a general offense, the Corruption Eradication Committee is obliged to carry out an investigation. Whether what is reported has evidentiary value or not, and here the Corruption Eradication Commission must be transparent. Because when we talk about law we talk about evidence. “Anyone who makes an accusation must prove it, well because the Corruption Eradication Committee has to prove that it really exists, the law speaks of evidence,” he said.
Hibnu suggested that the Corruption Eradication Commission be proactive in this report by following up transparently. Don’t let this report from IPW be ignored without clarity.
“Yes, so differentiate between politics. This is talking about law, talking about evidence, the accuser must be able to prove it, that’s why whether the evidence is there or it has no value or it is not the responsibility of the Corruption Eradication Commission. “Don’t just sit there, it’ll be a shame for Ganjar, it’ll be a shame for the community,” he said.
Head of the KPK News Department, Ali Fikri, said that his party was verifying the report, which would take 30 working days. He said verification was important in reporting. Anti-corruption institutions are obliged to ensure that complaints submitted are within the scope of law enforcement.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Ahmad Sahroni, did not see any political motive related to the report.
According to Sahroni, the reporting was not carried out during the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) contestation period.
“If this report was submitted before yesterday’s presidential election, it would just be a polemic. But now that it’s finished, I don’t think there are any particular political motives,” said Sahroni.
