The man deprived of his liberty on Wednesday in Tervuren as part of the investigation into the terrorist attack of October 16, 2023 in Brussels was placed under arrest warrant by the investigating judge, the federal prosecutor announced Thursday in a press release .

The suspect, Lamjed K., born in 1979 and of Tunisian nationality, was charged with assassination and attempted assassination in a terrorist context, and participation in the activities of a terrorist group.

Federal prosecutors have confirmed a potential link with the weapon used in the attack.

On Wednesday, two searches were carried out in Tongeren and Tervuren as part of the investigation. Lamjed K. was arrested in Tervuren.
