In DC a woman is accused of driving drunk and causing a Deadly crash on Rock Creek Parkway in March he will remain in jail for now.

At an arraignment hearing Monday in DC Superior Court for Nakita Marie Walker, 43, charged with three counts of second-degree murder in the March 15 crash.

Walker is first charged with fleeing from US Park Police after a traffic stop; but according to court documents, police did not pursue the Lexus SUV that Walker was driving.

Investigators said Walker reached speeds of up to 100 mph, based on vehicle data, before crossing double lines and crashing into a Honda Accord.

Mohamed Kamara, 42, of Burtonsville, Maryland, was driving the Lyft Honda at the time, with passengers Jonathan Cabrera Mendez, 23, and Olvin Torres Velasquez, 22, both of Arlington, Virginia. All three died during the accident .

In court on Tuesday, Walker’s lawyer claimed that a man in the car, with whom Walker had gone to the movies, had two guns in his possession and that she fled the traffic stop on his orders, fearing she would reprisals or violence from him.

Walker also told police she doesn’t remember the crash, but she did remember the man who was in the car with her pushing down on her leg because he felt she wasn’t driving fast enough. Walker even raised questions about whether she was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, claiming that her doctor said it is possible that she was injured by her as a passenger.

Both Walker and the male passenger were transported to a hospital for their injuries. Walker suffered a fractured femur, sternum and wrist in the accident.

The prosecutor sought to keep Walker in jail because he had a total of five prior DUI arrests, three in DC and two in Virginia. Walker also had a felony assault charge in the past.

His blood and urine tests the night of the accident showed that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit, according to court documents.

The car Walker was driving had 44 fines for speed cameras not paid at the time from the accident, totaling $12,300, according to the DC Department of Motor Vehicles. Of the unpaid fines, 28 were for speeding and one for running a red light. She said the tickets were incurred by both her and her estranged husband, who owned the car.

“He has shown that he is not following court orders,” Judge Judith Pipe said before ordering Walker to remain behind bars.
