Although they were announced more than a semester ago, some features of iOS 17 They will only reach the iPhone operating system next year. This is the case of playlists colaborativas do Apple Music It’s from AirPlay on hotel TVs.

The postponement of the two new features was officially confirmed by Apple in a document [PDF] which details the features of the current version of the system that equips iPhones. It was updated shortly following the release of iOS 17.2, which took place today.

The collaborative playlists feature was even tested in the first beta versions of iOS 17.2, but ended up being removed from later (and, consequently, the final) versions of the system due to Apple’s concerns regarding spam and abuse.

AirPlay on hotel TVs, in turn, was scheduled to be launched by the end of this year, however, for some reason unknown until now, the company stopped releasing it only “in an update in 2024”.

One can imagine that the two features will come in version 17.3 of iOS — which is very likely, given that iOS 17.2 was certainly the last feature-packed update for the system this year.
