iPhone 14: FaceTime camera with autofocus & faster USB 3.0 Lightning connector

With the iPhone 14 Pro, it seems certain that the upcoming iPhone will have an improved camera module. But the FaceTime camera should also be optimized on the front. According to Ming-Chi Kuo the front camera will have autofocus and get a ƒ/1.9 aperture.

The larger aperture allows more light into the lens and could result in an improved depth of field effect for portrait photos and videos. Likewise, FaceTime or Zoom calls will be better in quality. In comparison, the front camera of all iPhone 13 models has a fixed focus and a ƒ/2.2 aperture.

USB 3.0 Lightning connector

The website iDropNews exclusively reports that the iPhone 14 Pro should get a faster USB 3.0 Lightning connector:

The Lightning connector typically operates at USB 2.0 speeds but is not technically limited to this, and Apple engineers are working towards 3.0 speeds for the iPhone 14 Pro connector. That would solve the main problem that creatives have now.

However, these statements should be treated with great caution. According to Apple expert Mark Gurman, iDropNews likes to deliver “fake news” for clicks.
