We start with the design with two looks that are reminiscent of their predecessors. The iPhone 15 continues with the square camera block, which leaves the lenses diagonal. On the other side, there are the wide sensors of the Zenfone 10, which now have slightly thinner metal rims.
Both have aluminum construction, but only the iPhone has a glass back, complete with protection against scratches. The Zenfone opted for a plastic cover, which is less premium than its rival, but has a matte finish that helps with the grip. At least IP68 certification is present on the duo, to guarantee resistance against dust and liquids.
ASUS Zenfone 10
Although the ASUS cell phone is the smallest in height and width, it is the Apple device that offers the thinnest and slightly lighter body. The “Apple” also adopted the Dynamic Island in the most modest version of the family, while the Taiwanese kept the hole-shaped notch in the left corner and has the unique biometric reader integrated into the power button.
None of them offer storage expansion, due to the absence of a memory card slot. In connectivity, we have Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC, for contactless payments. Finally, the Zenfone’s seventh generation Wi-Fi is more modern than the American competitor’s sixth generation.

The iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch OLED screen, a little larger and with better frontal use than the 5.92-inch AMOLED panel on the Zenfone 10. Both offer Full HD+ resolution and HDR10 support, but Dolby Vision is only present in the “Apple” model.
Apple also gets better color reproduction and brightness levels compared to ASUS. The Taiwanese responds with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, for much greater fluidity than the competitor’s limited to 60 Hz.

These manufacturers did not skimp on the audio aspect and inserted a stereo system into their smartphones, which uses the call speaker as a secondary channel. The result is immersion gains for the user experience.
They both excel in sound quality, for a great balance between bass, mids and treble. It’s a shame that Apple limited the maximum volume of the iPhone 15, unlike ASUS in its partnership with Dirac, which brought External Mode for a greater gain in sound power.
Their packaging does not include a headset, and only the Zenfone 10 has a physical connector, so you can plug in a standard accessory.
With greater power and support for wired headphones, the Zenfone takes the lead in sound.

While the iPhone has iOS 17 as its native system, the Zenfone has Android 13 out of the box. ASUS promises two major software updates, which fall well behind the several years of useful life guaranteed by Apple for its smartphones.
Their mobile network is compatible with 5G, for faster internet from anywhere. They also deliver good fluidity, both due to the optimizations made by “Apple” and the high refresh rate of the Taiwanese panel.
The iPhone 15 stands out for the presence of the Dynamic Island, which allows you to integrate system resources into the notch, as well as other features, such as the new Standby mode, redesigned widgets and improvements to the Maps application. On the other hand, the Zenfone 10 offers the Smart Key for quick shortcuts, a side menu similar to Samsung’s Edge Screen and game management with Game Genie.

The iPhone 15 is powered by the A16 Bionic chip, the same as the previous year’s Pro line. In turn, the Zenfone 10 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Which one has the fastest performance? We saw an advantage of around three seconds for the Apple model, which stood out when opening apps.
The Cupertino giant also comes out on top in the benchmarks, with a tight 12.5% higher score on AnTuTu. When we go to games, both are capable of running all types of games. But only the Taiwanese can run the titles at up to 144 fps.

Apple inserted a 3,349 mAh battery in its cell phone, against 4,300 mAh capacity in the top of the line ASUS. Does this difference impact the practical duration? We saw in our standardized tests that it did. The Zenfone recorded 35 and a half hours of autonomy, 10 hours more than the time found on the iPhone.
When we move on to recharging, the scenario does not change. The iPhone 15 takes practically two hours to complete the process, a half-hour longer than the Zenfone 10, with the 30 W adapter sent by the Taiwanese company.
This is an easy point for ASUS.

Both have a double set of rear cameras. The main 48 MP on the iPhone takes photos with better dynamic range than the 50 MP on the Zenfone. Apple’s night mode also does better, obtaining cleaner images with more natural colors.
Both lack a telephoto sensor, but provide two times digital zoom with the main one. Even here, the quality of the captures is better on the iPhone 15. The ultrawide of both has a drop in sharpness, but you will still have more details recorded in the images from the “Apple” device.

We had a tight result in the confrontation between the compact top of the line. But still, Apple proved to be slightly superior than ASUS overall. The iPhone 15 provides the best construction, the brightest screen and best colors, the system with superior longevity, the best multitasking performance and the camera set with the best photos, videos and selfies.
On the other hand, the Zenfone 10 was quite competitive. It has the best design and ergonomics, the most fluid panel, the most powerful sound with External Mode, the ability to run games at 144 fps and the battery with greater autonomy and shorter recharge time.
The Taiwanese one charges the lowest price in national retail. In other words, if you don’t insist on the iPhone’s most complete photographic set, paying less for the Zenfone should already provide a very advanced experience in most aspects.
