IPL 2022 Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs

Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs in the second match of the IPL yesterday. Chasing Rajasthan’s target of 179, Lucknow were bowled out for 154 for eight.

Lucknow lost opener Quinton Decock (7), Ayush Badoni (0) and skipper KL Rahul (10) for 29 runs. Later, Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya teamed up at the crease to give Lucknow some hope. The pair, who added 65 runs, broke up in the 14th over. Krunal scored 25 off 23 balls. Hooda hit 59 off 39 balls, including two sixes and five fours. Marcus Stones scored 27 off 17 balls. For Rajasthan, Trent Bolt, Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy took two wickets each. Yusvendra Chahal and R Ashwin have one wicket each.

Rajasthan won the toss and elected to bat first. Currently, Rajasthan are second with 16 points. With one match remaining, Rajasthan have kept their play – off hopes alive.

Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in their first match of the season yesterday. Gujarat won by seven wickets.
