Ahead of the IPL mini-auction, Gujarat Titans captain and all-rounder Hardik Pandya went to his old home ground Mumbai Indians. The player was transferred through trading between the teams. This time IPL star auction will be held in Dubai on 19th of this month.

The Titans also omitted eight players this time. Shivam Mavi, Yash Dayal, Pradeep Sangwan, Alsari Joseph and Odion Smith among others were left out. Meanwhile, Hardik’s unexpected move has created a big gap in the team. With the exclusion of many pacers, the bowling of the team also became less sharp.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan says that Afghan pacer Azmatullah Omarzai should be included in the team to fill Hardik’s gap. Irfan Azmatullah pointed out Omarzai in response to a question regarding who is in the auction to replace the batting and bowling player.

‘Azmatullah is expected to go to Gujarat Titans as he is absolutely fit. Rashid Khan is there and it will help to bring out the best from his teammate. Apart from an all-rounder, the team also needs a proper fast bowler. They have enough money in hand’ – Pathan said.

Gujarat announced opener Shubman Gill as the captain of the team to replace Hardik. As the mini-auction is regarding to take place, the team has Rs 38.15 crore in their purse. Through this, the team can acquire a maximum of eight players in the auction. There are two foreign players in the team.
