iPod has redefined the music experience

USA – The US technology group Apple has announced the end of iPod production. The MP3 player not only influenced the music industry, but also redefined the way music is discovered, heard and shared.

The iPod Touch will remain available in the brand’s retail outlets while stocks last. In the meantime, however, the music experience of the iPod is integrated into all Apple products, explained Marketing Vice President Greg Joswiak on Tuesday.

The rectangular, white iPod hit the shelves in 2001 and quickly became very popular. The MP3 player and the associated music software iTunes helped legal music downloads to break through and thus heralded the end of CDs. According to media reports, Apple has sold almost 450 million of the devices in the past 20 years.
