A 15-year-old girl died last week in Ardabil, northwestern Iran. Beaten by security forces during a raid on her school, Asra Panah succumbed to her injuries in hospital, according to a teachers’ union. Seven of his comrades were injured.
Students, relate BBC, were attacked by security forces when they refused to sing a hymn praising Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The shocking death sparked further protests in Ardabil on Saturday.

The authorities, however, rejected the testimony of these teachers and state television, citing the uncle of the young deceased, said that the young Asra Panah suffered from a heart problem.
For his part, Kazem Musavi, MP for Ardabil, claimed that the teenager had ended her life by swallowing pills.
Retired Iranian football star Ardabil-born Ali Daei expressed his support for the protests on his Instagram account. And he challenged the authorities. “History has proven who the liars are,” he wrote.
Since the death of Mahsa Amini, 22, in Tehran in mid-September, in the hands of the morality police, demonstrations for more freedoms have followed one another in Iran. They are often brutally suppressed. More than 120 protesters are believed to have lost their lives, including up to 23 minors, according to the UN Human Rights Office.
