The Irish Ministry of Justice issued a statement stating that the “Golden Visa” investment immigration program will no longer accept visa applications after February 15. Attorney General Simon Harris said, “We review all visa programs, including any impact on wider public policy, such as the continued cultural, social and economic suitability and suitability of visa programs”. However, the Irish government said it would continue to process existing applications, with about 1,500 still under consideration.

The “Golden Visa” investment immigration program was launched in 2012 and is applicable to non-EU citizens with a personal wealth of not less than 2 million euros.
