Ahmed El-Ziny, head of the Building Materials Chamber in the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, told Masrawy that the Suez Steel and Ashry Iron companies announced a reduction in the price of a ton for the delivery of factory land by about one thousand pounds, as of tomorrow, Monday.
Al-Zayni added that the price of a ton of iron at the Suez Steel Company for delivery of the factory land fell to 18,070 pounds, and the price of a ton of iron at the Ashry Steel Company fell to 18 thousand pounds.
Al-Zayni stated that the average price of a ton of iron in integrated factories, delivered to the factory land, ranges between 18,000 and 18,170 pounds.
The average price of a ton of iron for consumers in the integrated factories ranges between 18,200 and 18,400 pounds, according to Al-Ziny.
According to the head of the division, the average price of a ton of iron delivered to the factory land in investment factories ranges between 17,200 and 17,500 pounds, and the average price of a ton of iron for the consumer in investment factories ranges between 17,500 and 17,700 pounds.
Ezz Steel announced today that the price of a ton for delivery of factory land will be reduced by one thousand pounds, as of tomorrow, bringing the price of a ton for delivery of factory land to 18,170 pounds.
Iron companies had announced a drop in their prices for the month of May, between 800 pounds and 830 pounds per ton, according to the company, according to Al-Ziny previously told Masrawy.
Al-Zayni expected more declines in the rest of the companies in the coming days in the markets.
Egypt produces about 7.9 million tons of rebar, about 4.5 million tons of billets, while it imports 3.5 million tons of billets, according to data from the Chamber of Metallurgical Industries.
