The Community of Madrid opens this academic year 2023/24 a chair on occupational risk prevention at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). The collaboration agreement between both institutions will allow the development of R+D+i projects related to this matter.
The objective of this initiative, signed by the Regional Institute for Safety and Health at Work (IRSST) of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, is to establish a platform to generate and transfer knowledge between companies and the university world, as well as practical development and innovation in these fields.
under the name IRSST-UCM Chair: R+D+i for the prevention of occupational risks, preventive culture and occupational well-beingTools for the evaluation of psychosocial factors will be analysed, in addition to offering informative sessions, training for university personnel, grants for master’s degree projects and doctoral theses, and prizes for students who develop initiatives related to these areas.
The agreement contemplates the investment by the Community of Madrid of 180,000 euros to finance its activities during the 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26 academic years, which will always be linked to training, the dissemination and transfer of knowledge and the promotion of R+D+i.
The agreement signed with the UCM, published in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid -BOCM-, does not imply the creation of new organizations and is included within the objective of the VI Master Plan for Occupational Risk Prevention to promote research on the effects of working conditions on health. Likewise, it joins other chairs with the same purpose developed together with other universities such as the Polytechnic and Carlos III.
