Is it possible to get a refund for your ski holiday due to lack of snow?

Inevitably, a question crosses all holidaymakers leaving for the mountains: is it possible to get a refund? Unfortunately, it is practically impossible to receive money without having taken out a “ski guarantee”. This is a specific cancellation insurance which intervenes in the event of a lack of snow. It allows you to cancel your trip free of charge. “It often depends on the number of open slopes. If less than 20% of the slopes are open a week before departure, people have the possibility, with us, to rebook or cancel their trip free of charge”, explains Tim Van Den Bergh from the Sunweb group for Het Laatste Nieuws.

But even if you have this insurance, it is not certain that you will be reimbursed for all your expenses. Depending on your contract, certain conditions must be met. Some companies will compensate you or offer you an exchange, for example.
