New Delhi: CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury criticized Israel as Israel and Hamas continue to attack West Asia by pushing it to the front of war. In a post on the X Platform, Yachuri demanded that Israel stop its occupation of Palestinian territories.
248 people, including 40 children, have been killed so far this year in attacks launched by the right-wing Netanyahu government in Israel. The expansion of Jewish settlements in Palestinian lands must be stopped. Yachuri also demanded that both the countries implement the resolution policy suggested by the United Nations.
At the same time, the Israeli army and Hamas are still fighting heavily in many places. Israelis were also reportedly taken hostage by infiltrating Hamas men. Hamas has taken hostages, including senior officials. Reports also indicate that many of them were smuggled into Gaza by Hamas men.
Footage emerged of armed Hamas fighters transporting Israeli soldiers and civilians in captured military vehicles and bikes. Air India has canceled its flights to Israel as the fighting intensified. Flights from New Delhi to Israel’s capital Tel Aviv and from there have been cancelled.
