Israel’s finance minister promises to topple Netanyahu if Rafah is not attacked

The outspoken Smotrich issued his warning to Netanyahu as Egypt works to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages held by Hamas.

– Agreeing to the Egyptian proposal would be a humiliating capitulation that would give the Nazis a victory on the backs of hundreds of heroic soldiers who have fallen in battle, Smotrich says in a video on Sunday. He regularly calls Hamas Nazis.

He goes on to say that such an agreement would be a “death sentence for the hostages and an existential danger for Israel”.

Smotrich believes it is crucial to crush Hamas, get the hostages released and restore security along the border, that Rafah is taken. If Netanyahu withdraws the order to invade Rafah, his government will not have the right to exist, he claims.

Egypt, Qatar and the United States are working intensely to bring about a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the release of the over 100 remaining Israeli hostages.

Hamas is now considering a final proposal from Israel, and a Hamas delegation is expected in Cairo on Monday to discuss its content. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on Saturday that Israel could suspend the invasion if an agreement was reached on the hostages.
