Significant progress in £190 million reference, Latif Khosa’s arguments complete – Pakistan

Significant progress has been made in the £190 million reference, Latif Khosa’s arguments have been completed while the Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing on the bail application of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan till April 29.

Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court heard the bail application of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the 190 million pounds reference.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Amjad Pervez did not appear in court while NAB requested to postpone the hearing.

Prosecutor NAB said that Amjad Parvez could not come because it was not known about the appointment of the case.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that there is an application for bail, every week automatic is set, today we will hear the arguments of the founder PTI’s lawyer.

He said that you should not do this on the bail application, where is the investigating officer? Why is the investigating officer not present? Is his warrant issued?

Later, Latif Khosa, the lawyer of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, started the arguments and said that the NCA had frozen the money in UK which was transferred to Pakistan through the agreement. An amount of 171 million pounds was transferred to the account, taxes etc. were deducted and sent to Pakistan.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri inquired how the money got into the Supreme Court’s account. On which the lawyer said a ‘Deed of Confidentiality’ was signed, Shahzad Akbar was the signatory.

Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri said that was the will of the Supreme Court included in it? On which Lataf Khosa said that the Supreme Court had opened an account, the Supreme Court had opened an account to transfer the amount of 460 billion, on November 23, 2023, the Supreme Court sent the money back to the Government of Pakistan. Founder PTI and Bushra Bibi are not beneficiaries of this money.
