Tel Aviv: Israel launched a public protest against international environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who responded to Israeli atrocities in Palestine. Israel came against Greta for posting on Twitter expressing solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. Israel also posted against Greta Thunberg on the official X account.
‘Today our strike is declaring solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. Greta’s post read, “The world must call loudly for an immediate ceasefire, and the world must speak up for justice and freedom for all who are suffering, including the Palestinians.” Greta also shared a picture of her holding pro-Palestinian placards with her friends on social media. The post was accompanied by hashtags like FreePalestine, IStandWithPalestine, StandWithGaza.
This was followed by a decision by the Israeli Ministry of Education to remove sections about Greta’s activities from school textbooks. Israel also accused Greta of losing her right to be a role model by expressing her support for Gaza. ‘Hamas is the terrorist organization responsible for the murder of 1,400 innocent Israelis, including children. This stance has stripped her of her right to be an educational and moral role model. “She will not be an inspirational figure for Israeli students,” the Israeli Ministry of Education explained.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry also criticized Greta through X. The post said the Hamas rockets that slaughtered innocent Israelis were not made with sustainable materials. The victims of the Hamas massacre could also be your friends. Therefore, Israel asked to speak openly against this.
