Local residents in Taoyuan District said that on the section from Meishankou to Tianchi on the Nanheng Highway, wild goats, wild Qiang and wild deer often appeared on the mountain. There were also bears in this area. Because these animals often appeared at night, this happened almost every day on the mountain. There are sporadic rockfalls, and the local residents are quite familiar with the geographical environment, so they will be very careful when passing this section of the road; Yan Zhongyi, the head of Meishan Village in Taoyuan District, confirmed this, saying that if unfamiliar tourists pass by, they should be careful to ensure the safety of life and property.

Xie Minghua, director of the Meishan Police Station of the Liugui Sub-bureau, said that he immediately went to the scene to control traffic when he received a rockfall yesterday morning. He admitted that there were indeed many wild animals running on the mountain on the road, but he could not confirm whether the rockfall was caused by running animals.

Chen Zhengwei, section chief of the Jiaxian Public Works Section, said that wild animals such as goats often appear on this section of the road, causing rockfalls. The public works section can only strengthen the slope construction works, hoping to effectively improve the phenomenon of rockfalls. If the reinforcement works are completed, the rockfalls still continue , will also consider using scaffolding to respond, but the works section hopes to effectively solve the rockfall phenomenon without affecting passers-by.
