Through a post in X of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated that the Greek government condemns Iran’s attacks against Israel.
“This is a serious escalation and increases the threat to regional security,” it is underlined.
Finally, it is announced that Greece stands by the people of Israel and their right to live safely, while reaffirming its call for immediate de-escalation.
At the same time, the EU condemns in the strongest terms Iran’s attack on Israel.
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, warns that “the dangerous cycle of attacks and reprisals risks getting out of control” and adds that an “immediate ceasefire in the entire region” is required.
He adds, finally, that “the EU remains fully committed to contributing to the prevention of a regional war”.
