Throng Piabi (Blue One Resort), the strongest ‘Cambodian Express’ in the women’s professional billiards (PBA) team, was eliminated from the round of 32 on the fourth tour of the season. On the other hand, Japanese players, including the last tour winner Orie Hida (SK Rent-a-Car), have advanced to the round of 16 and are predicting a blast.

Throng finished third in the women’s round of 32 survival of the ‘Huons PBA-LPBA Championship’ held at the Bitmaru Broadcasting Center in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 26th. He scored 44 points, followed by Hayashi Namiko (Japan) with 84 points and Kim Ga-young (Hana Card) with 60 points.

As a result, Hayashi and Kim Ga-young advanced to the round of 16. Throng was eliminated along with Lim Kyung-jin, who scored only 12 points.

Initially, Throng took first place in the round of 64 survival and showed good condition. He scored 118 points with a shot sense close to an innings average of 1.9 points.

However, it did not make it past the round of 32 survival. Throng did not use his strength in the good performances of Ga-young Kim and Hayashi, who barely passed the round of 64 survival. As it is a survival game in which four players compete, not two, the performance of opponents has a great impact.

Throng got off to a good start by winning the ‘Blue One Resort Championship’, the opening game of the season, for the second time in a row. He also took first place in the season rankings, including runner-up in the Hana Card Championship. However, on the 4th tour, he couldn’t go beyond survival and had to swallow his disappointment.

On the other hand, the progress of Japanese players stands out. Four of them, including Hayashi, the winners of the ‘TS Shampoo/Pura Chicken Championship’, Ayako Hida, Sakai, and Natsumi Hisigauchi, made it to the round of 16.

‘Billiard Goddess’ Lee Mi-rae (TS Shampoo・Puradak) and Kang Ji-eun (SK Rent-a-Car) also failed to advance to the round of 16. On the other hand, Kim Jin-ah (Hana Card) and Lim Jeong-suk (Crown Haetae), who were ranked first in the Korean Billiards Federation rankings, who made their debut this season and passed the round of 128 for the first time, advanced to the round of 16.

In the men’s division, the strongest players such as Frederick Coodron (Belgium, Welcome Savings Bank), Philippos Casidokostas (Hanacard), and David Martinez (Spain, Crown Haitai), the ‘Greek monster’ passed the first round. However, Kang Min-goo (Blue One Resort), Kim Bong-cheol (Huons), and Kim Nam-soo (TS Shampoo・Pura Chicken) were eliminated in the first round of the round of 128.

On the 27th, the men’s round of 64 match and the women’s round of 16 (set system) will be held. Billiards TV, a specialized billiards channel, MBC SPORTS+, SBS SPORTS, PBA&GOLF channels, etc., and YouTube (PBA TV, Billyers TV), Naver Sports, Kakao TV, Afreeca TV, etc. will be broadcast live.
