After Tuesday’s 0-3 defeat against Piast Gliwice, Raków came out on the pitch fully determined and imposed his playing conditions on the guests from the very beginning. It is true that Lech took the first shot towards the opponents’ goal in the 8th minute, but Jesper Karlstroem sent the ball high over the target.
In the 10th minute, the hosts carried out a dangerous action, but Bartosz Nowak was blocked at the last moment by Lech’s defenders. In the 13th minute, Erick Otieno tried to get through to the guests’ goal, but his rally was interrupted by a foul and referee Szymon Marciniak whistled a free kick. Nowak approached the ball and, with a technical shot, centered it into the penalty area, where the ball dribbled and, to everyone’s surprise, especially Bartosz Mrozek, landed in the net.
Lech tried to take the initiative, but to no avail, and in the 25th minute they suffered a second blow. This time, Gustav Berggren took over the ball in the guests’ half and after a short rally, he scored precisely on the ground from the penalty area line – it was 2-0. A moment later, the hosts wasted a chance to score a third goal.
The guests tried to fight back in the 29th minute, but Ali Gholizadeh was blocked and Joel Pereira’s cross was intercepted by Vladan Kovacevic. Between the 30th and 35th minute, Fran Tudor, Władysław Koczerhin, Ante Crnac and Dawid Drachal did not take advantage of favorable opportunities for Raków.
Finally, in the 36th minute, Crnac won the ball in the middle of the pitch, and Berggren took advantage of his tenacity to score again, although this time after a ricochet that completely confused Mrozek. However, in the 45th minute, Lech’s goalkeeper averted the danger after a dangerous shot by Drachal.
Coach Mariusz Rumak made as many as four changes during the break, but they did not result in better play from the guests. Only Adriel Ba Loua was active in offensive actions, but his teammates did not understand him. However, the hosts repeatedly threatened the Poznań goal. Crnac, Nowak and Tudor missed several opportunities, and in the 62nd minute, Kocherhin’s powerful shot was beautifully saved by Mrozek.
In the 69th minute, however, he was helpless when Nowak headed Tudor’s cross from close range, because the ball bounced off the post, and then off the goalkeeper, and found its way into the goal for the fourth time. Raków still had a chance to score more goals after rallies by Tudor and Jean Carlos, but the result did not change. However, Filip Szymczak wasted the perfect opportunity to score an honorable goal for Lech in the 84th minute.
