Meanwhile, Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong was sentenced to two years and six months in prison in January last year for the National Nongdan case, but was paroled in August of the same year. Although his sentence ended on the 29th of last month, he was restricted from employment for five years under the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Certain Economic Crimes. After that, on the 12th, he was reinstated with the ‘August 15 Liberation Day special amnesty’, and he will start business again from the 15th.
