Minutes of terror lived the public of the circus ‘Amedeo Orfei’ in surbo, Italiaafter a tigre will attack its tamer during the presentation. In the images, which have quickly gone viral on social networks, it is observed how the man was surrounded and attacked by the cat before the astonished gaze of the spectators.
The events occurred when Ivan Orfei31 years old, was in the cage interacting with a tigre on a scaffolding, when suddenly another tigre pounced on him and hurt him. In the video, it can be seen that the animal bites the tamer’s left leg, who fell to the ground.
With their claws y fangs, the animal caused Orfei multiple wounds in different parts of the body. In the middle of the attack, a circus worker hit the tiger with a table, a moment that the tamer took advantage of to flee in search of help.
According to Italian media, the workers of circus intervened to prevent a tragedy from unfolding, so the tamer was transferred to the emergency room hospital Vito Fazzi, in the city of Lecce.
“I’ll go back to the cage”
At the health center it was confirmed that the man suffered deep injuries to his neck and leg, which, fortunately, did not put his life at risk.
“As soon as I’m 100% I’ll be back in the cage with them. No problems and no negative thoughts towards them. Taming tigers has always fascinated me. I love animals madly,” he declared. Ivan Orfei to the daily ‘The Sun’.
After the incident, the circus administration suspended the shows with the tigers and arranged that the animals are subjected to a series of veterinary tests as part of the investigation of the case and the search for the reasons for the attack.
