Itapúa: New Oncology Day Hospital of the Lazos del Sur Foundation inaugurated

Asunción, IP Agency.- With the presence of President Santiago Peña, the new Oncology Day Hospital of the Lazos del Sur Foundation was inaugurated this Friday in Encarnación Itapúa. It will become the reference center in the fight against cancer and will benefit hundreds of patients, who will be able to continue their treatments in said hospital.

During his inaugural speech, Peña highlighted and celebrated the gesture of the businessman from Encarnacion, currently “Fundación Carlos (Espínola) y Miriam EH”, who invested in the construction of the building.

“The Foundation left enormous testimonies, our responsibility is not limited only to our house, to our company, to our municipality, to the Government. This businessman did not stop there, but he supported his community. There are no limits to what we can do with our society,” said the Head of State.

Peña pointed out that more Paraguayans need to understand that our responsibility has no limits, and also highlighted the qualities of Paraguayans since “we have will and determination,” which he said is observed in Encarnación.

Starting this Friday the 10th, the new headquarters of the Lazos del Sur Oncology Day Hospital operates in the downtown area of ​​the city of Encarnación, on Independencia Nacional and Roque Bojanovich streets.

In the last eight years, the hospital carried out more than 46,000 consultations and approximately 8,400 chemotherapy sessions, with around 4,000 registered patients.

With the expansion of its facilities, the care capacity will increase significantly, going from 15 to 30 daily chemotherapy sessions.

With the inauguration of the new headquarters, care for cancer patients will improve, offering greater comfort and capacity to provide care to people in the region who are fighting cancer.
