The color of the moment: red. A color that evokes antagonism in me and images that make me reconsider the concept:

The trend I will (probably) miss: Thoughts on the color of the moment
If before October 2023 I wasn’t really interested in trends, tell me, there’s really no reason to start now. On the other hand, I couldn’t help but notice that the color red is once again threatening to take over our closets. And I use the word againbecause this surprising information lands on me out of nowhere every November, when the magazines abroad start preparing for the winter holidays, which means: red everywhere.
No one would give credit to the holidays, of course, that would be too simple an explanation. The accusing finger will be pointed towards the catwalks: here, look there, the red color starred in this one and this one and that one, and here this one wore red at the concert and this one wore red to the gala dinner and this one chose red and not green apples at the supermarket, and don’t think it’s a coincidence.
But I’m surfing, no matter why or how it happened: my Instagram feed, or what’s left of it after I’ve blocked out most of the Western world, has become convinced that red is the right color to wear, groove and lock.
I can’t say that the idea leaves me completely indifferent, and still, it encounters internal resistance. Every cell in my body, the entire family genome, warns me against this color: my pioneering mothers, those fleeing pogroms, joining the partisans, each and every one of them flows in my blood when I look at the red sweater on the hanger and say: Red is attention and attention is trouble.
And that’s before we even talked about red socks that accidentally end up in the washing machine at the wrong time.
