More than 100 people were trapped for several hours in “Greenway”; The summer home of the British writer, famous for her detective novels, Agatha Christie, in rural England, according to CNN.
In a series of events that seem straight out of the pages of Christie’s crime and mystery novels, a group of tourists are stranded after a large tree is blown down by a storm, blocking their way back and forcing them to stay home.
Caroline Heaven, a tourist visiting Greenway, contacted local news agency Devon Live to break the news that about 100 tourists had been trapped at Agatha Christie’s former holiday home.

The National Heritage Foundation, which manages the historic site, quickly posted a message on its website, announcing that a large tree had fallen on the way back from the house.
A National Heritage Foundation spokesman said he was aware of “visitors, staff and volunteers who remain at Greenway and do not have the ability to leave,” noting that the foundation is doing “everything in its power” to ensure their comfort while they wait. Tourists were able to leave the property after local rescue services managed to reopen the road.
