IU donates 210 million won to help disadvantaged groups on her birthday | Li Zhien | The Epoch Times

[The Epoch Times, May 16, 2022](The Epoch Times reporter Zeng Weixin compiled and reported) Korean popular singer IU (Li Zhien), on the occasion of the 30th birthday of the Korean algorithm on May 16, donated a total of 210 million won (about NT$5.32 million/US$177,000) to a number of disadvantaged groups to help the disadvantaged. Last year, she also donated 500 million won on her birthday.

IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, released four donation certificates through the official community today (click), announced that on May 16, the birthday of IU this year, to the Korean organization “Love Snail” that helps the hearing-impaired, the Korean Family Association of Unmarried Mothers, the child welfare organization “Eden I Ville”, and the social welfare corporation Changinwon Donated a total of 210 million won to social welfare organizations.

It can be seen from the photo that IU is still donating in the name of “IUaena (아이유애나)”, which is called by herself (IU) and her official fan name (Uaena). The donation will be used to help children with hearing impairment and adolescents in single-parent families with financial difficulties to pay for surgery, and to help children’s childcare facilities and the establishment of disability protection institutions.
