Jack Miller: “Times like with tires from the store” / MotoGP

Ducati factory rider Jack Miller only finished P14 at the Barcelona MotoGP race and then, with a great deal of frustration, sarcastically commented on the performance of the tyres.

The Australian Jack Miller brought home only 14th place in his second home race on the “Circuit de Catalunya” on Sunday. Miller lost more than 34 seconds to the comfortable winner Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha).

“I only had two good tires all weekend,” said Miller, who started the race from 11th on the grid. “Right from the start I tried my best in the race. I had no grip on the right flank from the beginning of the race to the end. I have no idea what happened to that hard tire.”

And «JackAss» continued: «In the end I even had a rear tire spinning on the straight. I can also set my lap times with the Panigale with tires from the shop. It’s not normal, I don’t know what happened to the tires this weekend.”

Miller scolds: “We have a big problem – of course. I haven’t forgotten how to drive. From one tire to another, everything on the motorcycle suddenly changes. And then the tire can suddenly offer support again and come back, so to speak. »

Something else bothered Jack enormously: “I didn’t do a single 1:40 lap in the race.” Miller’s personal fastest lap in the field of all drivers was only the 17th time this time.

“In 2021 I was on the podium here, today I’m a damn 34 seconds behind. I do not get it. We have to analyze that now and check the data and find an answer.”

Miller confirms: “We took a poker for the hard tire race because it was really hot. You can find out what’s going on and go over to the Michelin people.”
