‘Hotel Romantiek’ is already in its fourth episode on television. And on Monday evening, viewers and ‘Family’ fans received a major surprise when Jacky Lafon (77) suddenly appeared in the program. The actress is looking for love!
In ‘Hotel Romance’, 24 singles, twelve men and twelve women, over the age of 65 travel to Poland to find love. Meanwhile, it is day four in the program and hosts Sven de Leijer, Gloria Monserez and Philippe Geubels had a big surprise for the singles and the viewers.
There is an extra single, and that new candidate is none other than former ‘Family’ actress Jacky Lafon! Some time ago she said on Radio 2 that a program such as ‘Who will be Jacky Lafon’s husband’ would not be for her. ‘What must be a great experience is an adventure like “Hotel Romance,” she added. And she meant it too! She participated in the entire casting procedure and was chosen. According to the program makers, she would have been selected even if she were not known.
The masked single
Jacky played the role of Rita Van den Bossche from 1991 to 2015. She became like Monday night the masked single presented and sang ‘Que Sera Sera’ by Jo Leemans with a lampshade on her head. She has not yet been introduced to the other candidates, but has already been revealed to the viewers.
In an interview with VRT she said the following about her participation. ‘I was soon asked “are you paid to come here?” Many participants also doubted whether it was real. But I quickly made it clear that I have as much hope of finding love as she does.’ Jacky is introduced to the rest of the group in episode five.
The actress was married to Belgian musician Ernest Adriaensen from 1973 to 1982 and from 1989 to 1995. She also had a daughter with him. From 2008 to 2012, Lafon was also married. In 2020 there was some talk of falling in love with a new man, but that clearly turned out to be nothing. Now the famous Flemish man is once again looking for love and enlists the help of ‘Hotel Romantiek’. Hopefully she finds it there too!
