Musical start to the New Year

St. Pölten (OTS) – January starts in the cinema in the Kesselhaus on the Krems campus with a series of films from the music world, some in combination with live music. First up from January 4th to 19th is the new work by Bradley Cooper, who in “Maestro” is dedicated to Leonard Bernstein and gives an insight into the life and loves of the music legend, while Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla” is the love story of the King of Rock ‘n’Roll portrays young Priscilla Presley from the perspective and also brings hidden sides of Elvis to light (January 20th to 31st).

Another three documentaries deal with different styles of music: The film “Romantik!,” which was partly shot in St. Pölten, deals with different styles of music. Schubert!” by Anita Lackenberger (on January 12th with a subsequent conversation and live music performance and on January 24th), Karen O’Connor’s “Joan Baez – I am a Noise” (on January 13th including broadcast of a conversation with Joan Baez at the “Viennale” and on January 19th) and last but not least Anna Schmidt’s “Living Bach” (on January 25th and 28th).

There is also the children’s cinema with films such as “Wish”, “Yuku and the Flower of the Himalayas”, “Wonka”, “Wow! Message from Space” and “Who are you, Mama Moo?”, the document series with “Vermeer – Journey into the Light”, “On the Adamant” and others, film breakfast on “How do we get out of this again?”, “Monsieur Blake at Service”, “Black Friday for Future” etc. as well as an appearance by Hosea Ratschiller with his new cabaret program on January 26th.

A new format will also be presented in the New Year: On January 17th there will be the first “Film.Bar.Quiz”, where you can put your film knowledge to the test every two months. In addition to various prizes, there is also a surprise film as a reward afterwards.
