Japanese donation for the benefit of the Ministry of Health

An agreement was signed yesterday, Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, between Tunisia and Japan concerning the granting of a donation of medical devices for the benefit of the Ministry of Health to support its efforts in the fight against the pandemic of the coronavirus and in anticipation of the holding of the eighth Tokyo International Conference on Development in Africa “TICAD 8”, scheduled for August 27 and 28 in Tunisia.

During the signing ceremony which took place in the presence of the Japanese ambassador to Tunisia, Shinsuke Shimzu and the representative of the United Nations Development Program in Tunisia, Céline Moyroud, the Minister of Health, paid tribute to Japan and the UNDP for their active contribution to the success of “TICAD 8”, which will make it possible to raise the level of Japanese-African partnership, particularly in the field of health.

The Minister affirmed, on this occasion, the concern of the Ministry of Health to ensure the best conditions to welcome the participants in this important international event.

For their part, the Japanese Ambassador and the UNDP representative expressed their continued readiness to strengthen cooperation and partnership with Tunisia in its various development programs.
