Four women have publicly accused American actor and musician Jared Leto of sexual assault, misconduct, and threats occurring when they were teenagers. BBC Documentary Details Allegations Involving Teenage Accusers

Ten women spoke with the BBC regarding alleged sexual misconduct by the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman, with nine of them sharing their stories publicly for the first time. Four of the women assert that the incidents they experienced could constitute a crime. To protect their identities, the documentary presents these four accusers under the pseudonyms Isabel, Alex, Clara, and Eta.

The reported encounters span from 2002 to 2016. During these periods, the accusers were between 16 and 19 years old, while Leto was between 30 and 40 years old. The BBC reports that it corroborated portions of the accounts by speaking with friends and relatives whom the women had confided in at the time. In certain instances, journalists reviewed photographs, electronic messages, and text correspondence supporting the accounts, while AP News noted that it was unable to independently confirm the allegations.

Specific Moteland Hotel Encounters Detailed in Reports

The accounts highlight various settings across the timeline. The woman identified as Isabel shares that her encounter occurred in 2002 at a Las Vegas motel when she was 17 years old. At the time, she worked in a store and met Leto after showing the location to him and his friends. According to her statement, she later agreed to meet the actor at his hotel. While waiting for him to get ready, he called her into the bathroom to talk while he bathed. Isabel claims that Leto suddenly began to kiss her, then grabbed her hand and forced her to participate in a sexual act. She states she pulled away and said she wanted to leave. According to her account, Leto exited the bathroom, checked the hallway for people, and only then let her leave the room. Now approximately 40 years old, she explained to the BBC that she blamed herself for a long time, believing the event was a result of her own naivety, and only later began to perceive the experience as sexual assault.
