New York, Nov 13 (EFE).- Jayson Tatum, with 35 points and 17 of them in the last quarter, led the Boston Celtics’ victory this Monday against the New York Knicks (114-98).
Tatum scored 17 of his team’s 30 points in the fourth quarter and was 4 of 5 in triples in the last twelve minutes of the game. To his 35 total points he also added 6 rebounds and 7 assists.
Jaylen Brown (22 points and 6 assists) and Kristaps Porzingis (21 points and 6 rebounds) supported Tatum for the Celtics who have won three in a row (8-2) and who in the Eastern Conference are only ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid (8-1).
Dominican Al Horford had 2 points and 4 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench for Boston.
For the Knicks (5-5), Jalen Brunson (26 points) and Julius Randle (25 points and 9 rebounds) were the top scorers.
The New Yorkers were superior in the first half and reached a +8 in the second quarter, but after the break they could not beat the Celtics who led a resounding 62-45 in the last two periods.
