SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Lauri Markkanen had 31 points and 12 rebounds for the Utah Jazz, who recovered from a sluggish start to beat the San Antonio Spurs 130-118 on Tuesday.

Jordan Clarkson added 24 points, while Collin Sexton had 20 and Walker Kessler scored 11 for Utah.

Keldon Johnson led San Antonio with 26 points, Devin Vassell added 22, Jeremy Sochan scored 19 and Victor Wembanyama finished with 15.

The Spurs (4-25) have asked for five games in a row. This season they had already broken the franchise’s undesirable record, with 18 consecutive losses.

The Jazz (13-18) have won three straight and six of eight following starting the season with a 2-7 record.

Wembanyama returned following missing two of three games with an ankle injury. He was scheduled to play Saturday in Dallas but he stepped on a ball boy during warmups and was ruled out as a precaution.
