Musician JB Dunckel, member of the iconic French duo Air, has just unveiled a new solo track entitled “Summer Bip Bip”.

Summer Bip Bip, it’s the new summer title of JB Dunckel, half of the mythical duo Air whose last projects date back to 2012. Once again, the French musician captivates us with his recognizable, hovering, rhythmic and repetitive sounds. The title is accompanied by a colorful and animated clip, in which a DJ meets a blue, hairy creature that bewitches people.

He explains in the description of his animated clip that: “Summer Bip Bip is a wave of summer sound, which features an instrumental melody that loops over four chords. The piece is built so that you never get tired of listening to it. The melodic sound loop sometimes depitch, like a jazz melody, and sometimes it becomes even more haunting by sticking to new harmonies, it changes sound and thickness. I practiced on this title a work that I call ‘the morphing’, that is to say that the Hook’, the melodic loop, changes sound color constantly throughout the piece to give an impression of living fluidity to the sound. The vibration of the title is joy, jubilation, dance. »

In parallel with his hits with his duo Air and their very beautiful soundtracks for the classics Virgin Suicide, Lost in Translation, Marie-Antoinette, Distant Quarter, Pioneer, A Trip to the MoonJB Dunckel launched his solo project in 2006 with the release of his debut album titled Darkel. Since then, the musician has continued his solo career by releasing two other albums, H+ in 2018 and Carbon in 2022. He even signed some soundtracks with his personal project, such as the soundtracks ofSummer 85 by François Ozon as well as the soundtrack of the Franco-Belgian comedy Normal out this year.
