Criticism targeted the Syrian artist, Jenny Esber, after her last Ramadan work, “Sabaya 6,” and she revealed the motives behind it. She also indicated that she is preparing three artistic works for the next Ramadan season, including a series of her own idea.
Regarding the criticism that affected the work, Jenny Esber says: Unfortunately, most criticism is criticism, although the difference between them is very large, because criticism highlights the negative aspect of the work, but in a correct way, and this matter is in the interest of the artist and contributes to developing his experience, while criticism produces… About psychological problems and negative personal motives of the person who criticizes with the aim of harming the person being criticized, whether he is an artist, or a person working in another field, but I have learned how to turn negative criticism into positive, because I consider that the discomfort I cause to the person who criticizes me, whether From me or from my success is what prompts him to talk about me in a completely bad way. I also learn from constructive criticism things that we can benefit from in my artistic experience, and that I correct in my future works. Criticism is necessary for the artist because he may sometimes not see his weaknesses. Therefore, shedding light on it is very important in order for him to develop his experience.. As for my participation in the series “Sabaya 6”, we as actors are directors, and we do not have a choice because we choose from among the works that are presented to us, and I cannot say, for example, that I want to work with a “company.” Al-Sabah” against her will, but the decision is up to her… Everything is related to the scripts that are presented to the actor, and they are sometimes good, and other times they are not good, and I choose from among them the script that I find is best for me.
Regarding the preparation for the next Ramadan drama season, Jenny Esber said: We were late this year in preparing for the works for the next Ramadan season, because Ramadan will come to us early next year, and I finished reading a script for a joint Arabic series, which is a decimal series, but we did not reach a final agreement about it. I have not officially signed it yet, and I am also reading another script for a work written and directed by Diana Fares, and I will participate in it with a new character, in addition to the fact that I am preparing a third work whose idea is mine, and I hope that we will reach a positive result and that this work will be born and see the light.
