Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, are expecting their seventh child, coming just over a year after welcoming their sixth child. The 33-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting
star announced during an episode of the Unplanned Podcast
that she is six weeks pregnant as reported by Aol.
Sharing the News on the Podcast
During the Wednesday, October 28, episode hosted by Matt and Abby Howard, Jessa shared that she was feeling a little queasy
in her first trimester. The reality star explained that with each kid, we take it one at a time,
and noted that she gets baby fever too soon after having a newborn. When asked whose idea the baby was, Jessa stated, It’s always me,
while Ben added, If she wants to have another one, wants to be a mom again, who am I to stand in the way of that?
The couple confirmed that while their sixth child, son Eddie born in July 2025, was unexpected, their seventh child was planned.

How Ben Seewald Found Out
Jessa revealed she broke the news to her husband via a text message containing a photo of the pregnancy test while Ben was out golfing with Jessa’s brother Jed. Ben recalled looking down at his phone on the golf cart and thinking, Wait, what?
He subsequently shared the update with Jessa’s dad and brothers while saying grace before brunch, telling them, Lord, thank you for this new baby on the way,
which prompted them to respond, What?!
Looking Back at Past Reactions
The pregnancy announcement follows a starkly different reaction to their sixth child, Edward, when Ben admitted his initial anxiety regarding finances and spending enough time with each child made Jessa cry. Despite those earlier concerns about juggling his ministry work and children—who include Spurgeon, 10, Henry, 9, Ivy, 7, Fern, 5, George, 2, and Edward, 1—Jessa praised her husband as an intentional dad who regularly takes the kids on breakfast dates and plays board games with them.
