The New York franchise announced through a press release published on its social networks that Nathaniel Hackett will be the team’s new offensive coordinator. The 40-year-old spent last season as the Denver Broncos’ head coach, but was fired after entering Week 16 with a 4-11 record.
His most successful stage in the NFL was as offensive manager for the Green Bay Packers from 2019 to 2021. During that span, the NFC North team reached the NFC Championship Game and quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named league MVP twice.

Hackett came to the Broncos as an attempt to lure Rodgers to Denver. In the end, the coach killed Russell Wilson and his system never quite matched the former Seattle Seahawks’ skills.
Thus, the four-time NFL MVP could be one of the Jets’ options. Robert Saleh indicated that they are interested in bringing in a veteran QB without ignoring the development of Zach Wilson.
“The quarterback position was the main concern during the interviews,” Saleh said. “It was simple: we are committed to looking for a veteranWe won’t say names. We talked about bringing one if we can. We want to continue working with Zach and his development”.

In addition to hiring Hackett, the Jets began a working relationship with Keith Carter. Carter will serve as New York’s offensive line coach and running game coordinator. He will take the place of John Benton, who held the position during 2021 and 2022.
Prior to his arrival in the Big Apple, the 40-year-old spent the past five seasons as the offensive line coach of the Tennessee Titans. His career as a football player ended due to a car accident in April 2003.
