Last night, a new statue was inaugurated in front of Stretford End: that of Jimmy Murphy, well known for having magnificently taken over the reins of the club in 1958, after the Munich air tragedy.
The inauguration of this statue was obviously congratulated by Erik ten Hag who found the idea “fantastic”

“I think it’s very good that the club brings so much honor and recognition to a fundamental person in the history of Manchester United”
he said about it.
“It represents a lot of symbols. He has become a symbol of youth, of youth development.”
“But he also represents resilience and determination, which are now Manchester United standards.”
“Everything was possible thanks to this person after Munich, the club was devastated”, continued the Dutch coach who knows the legend of Jimmy well.
