Joe Biden: Another blunder – He forgot the anniversary of the events in the Capitol 2024-05-01 20:23:46

Biden, the oldest US president at 81, made the gaffe as he commented on his Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, 77, in front of the star-studded crowd.

“We will certainly never forget the dark days of June 6th, January 6th, excuse me,” the President said, according to a White House report.

“One of the darkest days in history. The idea that it wasn’t a riot — I don’t understand.’

June 6, otherwise known as D-Day, commemorates the Allied invasion of Normandy, France during World War II, in which more than 2,500 American soldiers were killed.

Moments before his latest blunder, Biden had denounced a number of other glaring failures by Trump.

“We’ll never forget him wanting to tear gas peaceful protesters outside the White House and holding the Bible upside down. Now he is writing his own Bible,” he said.

The president also accused Trump of “lying about COVID and telling the American people to inject their hands with bleach.”

“Let him inject it into his hair,” Biden joked.

The fundraiser was held in the backyard of Douglas and Zeta Jones’ riverfront home, where about 100 people sat under a tent to hear Douglas and Biden speak.
