US President Joe Biden spoke by telephone with King Charles III, and congratulated him on his upcoming coronation on May 6, the White House said. Joe Biden has “informed” the British sovereign “First Lady Jill Biden looks forward to attending on behalf of the United States”notes the press release. ‘The President has also expressed his desire to meet the King in the UK at a future date’according to the White House.

Some 2,000 people are expected on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London for the coronation of Charles III, who acceded to the throne after the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, in September.
