The Joint Chiefs of Staff belatedly disclosed the fact that North Korea’s multiple rocket launches were “not in violation of UN resolutions.”

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said today, “Our military caught several tracks believed to be North Korean multiple rocket launchers from 8:07 am to 11:03 am today.”

It is known that North Korea fired about five multiple rocket launchers from the west coast to the West Sea on the same day, and it is estimated that the multiple rocket launchers have a caliber of less than 300 mm, and are 122 mm or 240 mm without guidance.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced this fact only after about 10 hours had passed since the capture of the last fired multiple rocket launcher.

In the case of ballistic missiles, the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced the facts to the media immediately after detection, but did not announce the firing of conventional multiple rocket launchers such as 240mm, and it appears to have been announced late as media inquiries continued.

An official from the Joint Chiefs of Staff explained, “In the case of ballistic missiles, we notify them immediately because they are in violation of UN Security Council resolutions, but in the case of multiple rocket launchers, it has not been notified separately.”

At the Labor Party plenary meeting held from the 8th to the 10th, North Korea reaffirmed its strong stance against South Korea, such as ‘struggle against the enemy’, ‘gang-to-gang’, and ‘head-to-head fight’, and within a day after announcing it through the state-run media the day before shot

It has been seven days since the last five days since the launch of eight short-range ballistic missiles in four places, including Pyongyang.

As the North Korean military has not yet entered summer training, it is analyzed as a kind of low-intensity armed demonstration.

“Our military is maintaining a thorough readiness posture while closely cooperating with South Korea and the United States while strengthening surveillance and vigilance,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
