Joint EU strategy planned: Faeser plans refugee turnaround | politics

Europe listens twice: Germany’s SPD Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (52, photo) spoke on Friday for the first time of “high fences and walls” as part of the protection of the EU’s exclusion!

“FENCES”!? “WALLS”!? In addition: “HIGH”!? Is someone preparing a change of course in border and migration policy? Apparently yes!

BILD knows: Faeser and also Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64, SPD) want to fundamentally change the EU asylum system – together with countries like France, Austria, Denmark, Spain and Greece! Since this is currently not possible in the EU under Sweden’s presidency, the new regulations are being prepared for July, when Spain has taken over the leadership.

Austria’s Chancellor Karl Nehammer (50) had already reported in the BILD interview that Scholz made sure that EU funds for border fences and walls were released at the EU summit in early February: “He gave us a lot of support – without him it wouldn’t have worked that way.”

Without dramatic changes, Faeser said on Friday after a meeting with colleagues from five other EU countries, freedom of movement in the Schengen area would be in danger. Means: There are border controls within the EU!

According to BILD information, Faeser rejects new border controls at the external border like in Bavaria for Germany. BUT: It is possible to expand the Saxon model with increased veil searches in the border area!

New sounds from Berlin – but experts warn that these are only announcements.

► The head of the German federal police union, Heiko Teggatz (50), to BILD: “Manhunts in the border area would be an excellent means of combating illegal migration.” His BUT: “It only makes sense if the federal police are authorized to enter the country without permission Push people back to the neighboring EU country immediately after crossing the border.”

► Manfred Weber (50, CSU), head of the EPP group in the EU Parliament, states: “The EU interior ministers are warning of their own failure.” The EU border agency Frontex must finally be expanded to 10,000 police officers, like Weber. And: “Already at the external border, it must be classified who has the prospect of staying. Not everyone can enter the EU. People without a visa or a reason for asylum must be able to be returned directly.”

► CDU domestic politician Alexander Throm (52, CDU) does not go far enough for Faeser: “As long as no effective protection of the EU’s external borders is guaranteed, it is negligent for Faeser to exclude border controls with the Czech Republic and Switzerland.”

► Everything takes too long for the German municipalities. Reinhard Sager (64), President of the German District Association, to BILD: “We cannot wait for sometime, we need tough and effective measures now: the influx must be reduced now, the deportations must be intensified now!”

Sager continues to BILD: “By the summer, the migration numbers and thus also the overloading of the municipalities will have increased dramatically. That is unacceptable.”
