Josh Peck Breaks Silence on Investigation Discovery’s Docuseries and Offers Support to Survivors

Josh Peck Speaks Out About Sexual Abuse Allegations in Nickelodeon Docuseries

Josh Peck, known for his role in the popular TV show Drake & Josh, has broken his silence on Investigation Discovery’s docuseries, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. In the series, Peck’s co-star, Drake Bell, was put in the spotlight for alleged sexual assault. Peck revealed that he had also been a victim of sexual abuse as a child while working at Nickelodeon.

In an Instagram post, Peck expressed his support for the survivors who bravely shared their stories of abuse. He emphasized the need for protection of children and hoped that the public discussion of these incidents would bring healing and necessary change to the industry.

The revelation came after Bell’s fans criticized Peck for not speaking up on behalf of his co-star. Bell later clarified that Peck had reached out to him personally to express his support and help him through the difficult situation.

This recent development has shed light on the challenges faced by child stars in the entertainment industry. Peck and Bell, once close friends during their time on Drake & Josh, had drifted apart over the years. Peck had previously acknowledged the differences between them, stating that they had become completely different individuals after the show ended.

The docuseries also exposed allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and inappropriate behavior surrounding shows led by producer Dan Schneider during the early 2000s. Multiple child stars who worked on Nickelodeon shows, such as All That, The Amanda Show, Zoey 101, iCarly, Victorious, and Sam & Cat, came forward with their own stories of misconduct.

Following the release of the docuseries, Schneider broke his silence and expressed regret for his past behavior. He acknowledged the pain in the eyes of those affected and stated that he wished he could go back and do a better job, emphasizing that it was never acceptable to mistreat anyone.
