Judge grants definitive suspension against AMLO’s ‘decree’ – El Financiero

The Seventeenth District Court in Administrative Matters in Mexico City granted the first definitive suspension once morest the agreement instructing the agencies that the works of the Mexican government will be considered as matters of national security.

In a statement sent by the National Council for Strategic Litigation, AC (CNLE), the organization celebrated that the court had stopped the so-called “decree” with which citizens were prohibited from accessing information on the works carried out by the Mexican government.

This suspension is added to the resolution that had already been granted by the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Public Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI) in December of last year.

Within the suspension, the District Judge assured that “by considering the projects and works of the Federal Government as national security, it translates into a limitation in access to information related to those works and projects.”
