A new power trio in the national team!

Nagelsmann is giving up a lot of money by terminating his Bayern contract (which ran until 2026). But it’s not just Nagelsmann who is giving up – Wagner is also missing out on a top job for the national team!

According to BILD information, he will quit his expert job at ZDF and even give up his TV expert career completely!
Certainly not easy for Wagner – and sad for many fans who loved Wagner’s mix of technical analyzes and casual sayings.
ZDF needs new experts
Just this summer, ZDF announced that Wagner would become a top expert at the station and would give up his DAZN job to do so. Wagner worked there as an expert and co-commentator in the Bundesliga and Champions League; he was only heard and seen on ZDF at special events such as the World Cup.
That should now change, from this season ZDF wanted to rely entirely on the popular expert, Wagner should be used as an expert and co-commentator especially in international matches and DFB Cup games – and of course also at the home European Championships in 2024!
But he will now be needed in other activities for the DFB international matches…

Wagner is already studying opponents
And that’s very quick. Nagelsmann about Wagner: “Sandro did a very good job in Unterhaching. It made perfect sense for me to ask him. Sandro immediately signaled that he wanted to do that. I am very, very happy. He’s already traveling to stadiums this week.”
Wagner had been working as assistant to Hannes Wolf (42) at the DFB U20 since the summer, then took over with Wolf as Völler’s assistant in the 2-1 win against France and already received a lot of praise from Völler and the players.
Wagner recently completed his A-license as a coach, but he will probably only be able to tackle his football teaching license in 2024 – if there is still time left apart from the national team and the big project of becoming a European champion…
