After months of waiting, the Old Lady will finally know what sauce she will be eaten on Monday. After first losing fifteen points in the case of capital gains deemed artificial during certain player sales, Juventus saw the Guarantee College of the Italian Olympic Committee (Coni) suspend this decision. The points have therefore been provisionally recovered but everything will therefore be finally decided on Monday.
Indeed, the Coni still confirmed a fault of the Piedmontese club, evoking a “deliberate and repeated alteration of accounting entries”. The College will therefore rule and take the final decision in this case. According to the Italian press, a sanction is expected but it could be less severe than the initial fifteen points.
Second in Serie A with eight points ahead of AC Milan, fifth, Juve is almost guaranteed to finish in the top 4, sportingly at least. If she were to lose points, her participation in the next Champions League would be more than compromised. Especially since the elimination against Sevilla in the semi-finals of the Europa League definitively closes this second possible way to qualify. The tension should therefore rise in Piedmont over the next few days.
