She spoke about her orientation, answering a question about coming out Russian football player Nadezhda Karpova.

– Yes. Young guys who really face such social problems and when they really need support. I think this is very important. When someone from the world of sports, some influential figures – not only from the world of sports, in general, influential figures in general – talk about it, it becomes easier, of course.
“Are you scared to talk about it on camera now?” How are you feeling?
– Not. Well, I’m a little nervous, because it’s never been so frankly from me on camera (laughs). I’m actually pretty cool.

– Well, yes (laughs).
– Now there will be clearly an unhealthy interest in you. Let’s put it this way: Do you even have a girlfriend now?
– Yes.
– Do you think that this topic is taboo in Russia, is it normal or not?
“Damn it, there are so many taboo topics in our country. And there are more important topics that are forbidden, so there is nothing to be surprised at.
Here is the phrase “if you want to be gay”, if you want, if you don’t want, you know, you did, you didn’t. #####, well, what kind of nonsense is this. Really, there is nothing easier, it seems to me, in the world than to be straight. Given a choice, who would choose to be gay? Make life difficult for yourself. Seriously? Especially in Russia.
– When do you think it will be possible to walk by the hand in Russia?
– Never. Well damn, judging by the way things are going, never. We had some progress not so long ago – approximately when the World Cup was – some progress. It was-it was. Blocked the road, repair work.
Living in a closet for a long time is difficult and does not make sense. It will keep spinning in your head until you say it. It is clear that everyone chooses how to open up and how much (laughs).
